On October 28th, 2014 I had the great fortune to be interviewed by Carl Franklin and Richard Campbell, hosts of .NET Rocks! We had a great conversation about what it’s like for a long time .NET developer to make the move to developing applications using Scala/Akka/Spray on the Java Virtual Machine. The episode aired as #1061 on November 13th, 2014. Richard and Carl are very gracious hosts and getting to spend an hour behind the curtain was a real treat!

In the spirit of creating a more complete picture than we were able to cover in the conversation on the show, I’ve collected a series of posts talking about what it was like to make the switch and how working with Scala, Akka, and Spray compares with working in C#.

As new posts are published, I’ll add them to the list here:

  1. Into the Wilderness
  2. Getting Set Up
  3. Meeting Scala
  4. Object-Oriented Scala
  5. Functional Scala
  6. Building on Scala with Akka Actors (Coming Soon)
